THE WALK OF LIFE PROJECT

The Walk of Life Project is described in our promotional video HERE The video is is backed by the"Walk of Life" track produced by Dire Straits.  Full permission has been approved by the band to use the track in this way. Forces Online prohits any full or part use of the project which is protected by copyright HERE
People, groups/clubs and organisations that sign-up to the Walk of Life do so to support armed forces veterans, their families and dependents entirely at their own risk.  These activities are not covered by any Forces Online insurances.  Where large groups are planning to hold a combined event in this instance Forces Online  may be able to provide some cover, but its all based on individual cases.  In the event that Forces Online does decided to support one of these events Forces Online would confirm everything in a full written statement.  Where this does not exist it will be down to the activity participants to ensure the risk to health and safety is theirs.
Because there is no time limit to completing the walk/ride this means that there is no need to put yourself in any anynecessary risky positions with bad weather conditions, etc.
Personal safety should be observed at all times and the usual implications i.e. not walking/riding in dangerous locatations or alone where the alarm can't be raised, etc.
The Walk of Life has a medal system whereby the measurement in both distance and sponsorship is part of the  conditions for the various Medal awards.  Competing to gain awards is purely personal choice and the distances required should be attampted within personal abilities, and because there is no time limit to the distances required, people will not need to physical challenge themselves outside the normal scope of their endurance.
When measuring the distance and sponsorship levels required.  The Walk of Life awards for sponsorship levels can be applied by the Walk of Life team as a form of verification.  The distances are self verified and trusted by the participants to be honest with their achievements.  The forms and medal requests are provided on the website and medals are issued on request rather than automatically recognised by the system.  All requests are verified before any medals are issued, and in the event of a request falling short, the requestee will be notified.
